Exocet Update 8: First Start
- Jan 1, 2025
- 2 min read
It lives - 207.75 hours and 376 days later.
The car was assembled with just enough components for it to run (we neglected things like seats, an operating brake system, etc). After priming the fuel system (running the pump to purge the system of air), the car started up and idled without major issues.
The tachometer does not work which will require trouble shooting down the road but this has no impact on the car being able to run and drive. The tachometer operates differently depending on the model year of the donor car, for our 1996 powertrain this issue may be due to a ground fault. As the wiring harness is pruned and permanently installed, this issue may resolve itself.
